Our run of hospital time continues......Jesse fell out of bed the other night and landed on his shoulder. At 2am we were back at the hospital with the diagnosis that Jesse had broken his shoulder bone!! We couldn't believe it. So for the next two months Jesse will be wearing a brace. I am sure that life will return to normal soon!!!!!!!!!!!!

Guess what happened to us !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last Monday I got a call from my babysitter who was hysterical telling me that Jesse (my youngest) had stopped breathing. By the time I got home she said he was fine , but he was really limp in her arms. I rushed him to the hospital and the doctor said it was impossible to stop breathing for that long and that he thought he might have had a seizure. As we were going through tests and things Jesse had a seizure so we were rushed to the main hospital in town. He had two more seizures that night and later after a spinal tap and brain cat scan they confirmed that he is epileptic. Hopefully he will grow out of it in a few years but is now on medicine twice daily for at least two years. Apparently it is common for young children to get for no reason and then also grow out of. Jesse was released from Hospital on Thursday last week and when I got home with him I saw Josh..... He had been complaining of a tummy ache for the week while I was in hospital and everyone assumed he was emotional with me and Steve (who was in NZ) away. He looked terrible so I rushed him to hospital where the doctors admitted him saying he thought it was a severe virus going around school children .... the next day Josh had many tests and finally a cat scan to check for apendicitis. Turned out his appendix had ruptured three days before and was causing severe infection everywhere. So we were rushed again to the largest hospital (different from Jesse) where he had an emergency operation. He is doing well now but has a really nasty scar and is still in hospital. Sammy turned 5 on Wednesday which we celebrated in a small way in the hospital with all the kids together. She is sitting in the wheelchair as there wasnt much space in the room.
Life will never seem stressfull again!!

I have finally found five mins spare to sit and update. I am sorry to everyone that I havent replied to by email but time is very short on the computer these days, although things getting more and more settled each day.
Stevie started elementary school yesterday and loves it. She is so excited to go and the 7.40am start doesnt seem to faze her yet (cant say the same about me).
The kids are great together , playing, fighting and all other very normal brother sister things.
Here are some photos of Stevie's first day and the kids eating together

To all of our friends and family
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Ok I wanted that to look really cool but dont know how to do it. Anyway the feeling is right behind it and we wish you all a wonderful Chinese New Year. We are heading off tomorrow to Taipei for four days with friends of ours, then back to Taichung for a day and then off to an engagement then the following day a BBQ with other friends at our house. It is going to be such a busy time but fun too. I heard today from one of our friends that they are picking up their new daughter tomorrow ... I cant think of a better way to spend Chinese New Year. Another friend of ours from Canada has decided to come back and extend their family ... I cant wait to see them again! And us..... well watch this spot as we decide between China , Oz or NZ .... for our next move!
Anyway I hope that the year of the pig is the best year possible for everyone (especially those waiting to be united with their children!!)
Will post photos of our adventures in Taipei when

Just arrived home from Song hur (the village that Jesse's family live in) We called this morning to see if they would be home for a visit? They said fine so we headed off to see them. When we arrived it turned out that it was a village wedding going on and we had a table set aside for us (only in Taiwan could it be arranged that quickly) We had a great meal and I caught sight several times of Jesse being whisked away out the door with different "strangers"
I was promptly told both times to sit down that Jesse was not with "strangers" but with his "family" It was a really nice once I relaxed with it. We are heading back up to see them in a fortnight with Steve being promised to be taken into the mountains. Jesse's Grandmother is 41 and just found out she is having a son in April so Jesse will soon have an uncle .....
On the way home I was talking to Steve about how lucky we are that both of our sons biological families are really nice and we feel really connected with them. I know that my boys will never have issues about where they come from as they will always know their families. It is such a great feeling!!!

Jesse is up and running!!! Well not quite but he is moving fast with assistance from what ever may fall into his reach. Josh is struggling with Jesse's new independence, so it is making for interesting times in our house. We met up with a family that has moved to Taiwan to foster their daughter until their final ruling is out. Violet their daughter was such a cutey , almost got me thinking about another........ but no I am sure the three girls and two boys are our complete family. I think you can all feel the relief from Steve even through the computer :) We went for a run out to the harbour and had a huge feed of seafood after. Its great meeting up with other adopting families and sharing common experiences.
Anyway was a great weekend .....Oh ......
"Happy birthday Debbie!!!!! "
